ABOUT THE PROJECT
My name is Belén and I collect stars.
It all started in December 2010, while on a trip to Barcelona. Hidden in the asphalt, I found a sticker in the shape of a star.Very happy at finding it, I took a picture with my mobile phone and kept it.
Some time later, preparing a class about creativity, that photo came back to my mind.”Perhaps talent is like that little star in the asphalt: and the difficult part is not in finding it, but learning where to look. After all, everybody is good at something!”
“Follow your own star” is a project of collaboration, and its success involves sharing stories based on the stars: great stories and short stories, of family and friends, of artists and people unknown with whom one day we got into conversation; experiences we’ve had, things we read, discoveries we make, places and projects that inspire us and help us on our way.
This experiment is also a commitment to life beyond our computer screens. If there is no better theory than good practice, why not go out there, and to talk again to our neighbours, to the commuters in the underground (metro) or to the person behind the bar?
In “Follow your own star” we also collect stars. Wherever you live, you can upload pictures containing details of stars to this site map. Our dream is to bring together the most beautiful and varied collection of stars on the Internet!
As in every experiment, we don’t know in advance where this road will take us. But as “Cowbirder” William Huey once wrote, “It is not so much where you go, but how you get there. It is about taking the trip”.

Todo comenzó durante un viaje a Barcelona. Escondida entre el asfalto, encontré una pegatina en forma de estrella.Contenta por el inesperado hallazgo, saqué mi móvil y la fotografié.Tiempo después, preparando una clase de creatividad, aquella fotografía volvió a mi memoria:”Quizás el talento sea como aquella estrella en el asfalto. Quizás lo difícil no sea encontrar nuestros talentos, sino aprender a buscarlos en la buena dirección. Al fin y al cabo, ¡todo el mundo es bueno en algo!”
“Follow your own star” es un proyecto transmedia que cuenta con una recopilación de historias, grabadas y contadas en voz a través de la plataforma de storytelling de Cowbird. Historias grandes y pequeñas, organizadas en torno a siete grandes temas de la Economía Creativa.
Este proyecto es también una reivindicación de la vida más allá de la pantalla de nuestro ordenador. ¿Por qué no salir de nuevo a las calles, y permitir que lo inesperado nos sorprenda?

Vivas donde vivas, podrás subir al mapa de la web fotografías que contengan detalles de estrellas.
Nuestro objetivo es crear, entre todos, ¡… la más bella colección de estrellas en Internet!
Como todos los experimentos, no sabemos de antemano dónde nos llevará éste.
Pero, como una vez escribió William Huey: “No es tanto adónde vamos, sino cómo llegamos hasta allí. Se trata de hacer el viaje”.
